TikTok video download not working? Causes and fixes
When a TikTok link will not download, the cause is usually one of the six below. Most take less than a minute to check.
The post is private, deleted or restricted
A downloader sees TikTok the way a visitor who is not signed in does. If the account is private, the post was deleted, or TikTok asks you to sign in or confirm your age before showing it, there is nothing a downloader can read.
To check, open the link in a private browser window. If the video does not play there, it cannot be downloaded.
The link does not lead to one post
Links to a profile, a sound, a hashtag or a live stream are not posts. Open the video or the photo post itself, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste that link.
TikTok is turning requests away
TikTok sometimes refuses requests from download services for a few minutes or a few hours. Nothing is wrong with your link. Nabfox tells you when this is the reason; wait a little and try again.
It is a photo post
A slideshow is a set of photos with a sound, not a video. Nabfox offers the photos one by one or all in one ZIP file, and the sound as MP3.
The file was saved, but you cannot find it
On iPhone, Safari saves to the Downloads folder of the Files app, not to Photos. On Android, Chrome saves to the Downloads folder. The two guides linked below show where to look.
The video was saved, but it will not play
The sharpest copy on TikTok often uses the H.265 format, which some Windows PCs, older phones and editing apps cannot play. Paste the link again, open “Change format” and choose “Most compatible”.
